Description

The name "Li Sain Ben" is a provençal phrase meaning ‘this is a good place to stay’. It is a beautifully renovated, traditional bastide (farmhouse), just minutes from the thriving market town of Cotignac it is surrounded by vineyards in some of Provence’s most stunning countryside. The house sleeps 8/10 people (4 bedrooms plus a converted attic with height restrictions), 2 bathrooms, large gardens, swimming pool and wonderful views.

Cotignac is in the heart of the Var region and boasts plenty of shops, restaurants, markets and vineyards. From here one can explore the area, St. Tropez, Cannes, Aix-en-provence and the Gorge de Verdon are all within easy reach.

Accommodation

Ground Floor: comprises of a brand new, very well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, gas oven and microwave. There is a separate laundry room with washing machine.

The living room has 2 sofas, wood-burning stove, TV, DVD player, stereo And a door leads out onto the south facing terrace which is covered with an iron pergola.

The dining room opens out onto terraces to the south and east of the property, there is a large oak table that can seat 8/12 people.

From the living room you can also enter into the recently converted grange (barn) which is on the north side of the house. Here there are 2 bedrooms, one is a bunkbed room, the other is one of the master bedrooms with large french doors opening onto the east terrace and again showing off the wonderful views across the vineyards. There is a bathroom with stunning cast iron bath, a large shower, toilet, sink set on an antique chest of drawers and a heated towel rail.

First Floor: The traditional provençal staircase that divides at the top takes you up to 2 double bedrooms both with sensational views across the vineyards and a bathroom with shower, toilet and sink.

Second Floor: The attic is a haven for children, it is a playroom and also has 2 single beds. Not suitable for adults though as the ceiling isn’t full height.

Outside

The house sits comfortably in its own grounds and has a very tranquil atmosphere. There are 2 terraces to sit and enjoy the views, both with iron pergolas and outdoor furniture. There are fruit trees, a row of table grapes, a bouledrome and a climbing frame.

The pool is situated on the north side of the property and is 10 X 5 metres, with terraces and a sunken lounge area.
There is plenty of room for parking.
